Backstage With Becca B. Ep. 128 with Daniel Maldonado

On this episode I talked with Daniel about his first introduction to theatre and when he fell in love with live theatre, growing up close to NYC and Broadway, when he realized that performing on stage could be a career for him, deciding where to go to college and what he learned in college at Rider University that has helped him since, his favorite regional shows he’s been a part of: Newsies and Next To Normal, his audition for & Juliet on Broadway and whether he had previously heard about the hype the show has overseas in London, preparing mentally to make a Broadway debut as a performer, his process for learning multiple tracks in a rehearsal room, understudying Romeo and how he makes the role his own, his dream role, and MUCH MORE!

Daniel Maldonado (he/him)

Born and raised in Queens and Long Island and only minutes away from the greatest city in the world, Daniel found his niche in the arts. He first discovered his love for theatre in middle school when he performed in his first show Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Since then, his passion grew and has lasted throughout high school and college.

He is a recent graduate of Rider University where he earned his BFA in Musical Theatre. His recent credits include the World Premiere of Moulin Rouge! The Musical at the historic Boston Emerson Colonial Theater, Grease at Pittsburgh CLO, he recently was in Arena Stage’s production of Newsies in Washington DC, and is currently part of the cast of & Juliet on Broadway where he made his Broadway debut.
