Backstage With Becca B. Ep. 84 with JJ Niemann

On this episode I talked with JJ about how growing up in a family who was involved in theatre and watching his sisters perform on stage made JJ realize that he wanted to be a performer too, how growing up he worked on becoming a well rounded performer, how he managed to balance a million and one different things (including theatre) while in high school, auditioning for colleges and why he chose to study theatre at Elon University, the many regional shows he’s been a part of, his love for the show Hairspray, his audition for Book of Mormon on Broadway soon after college, his reaction when he was told he’d be a swing in the show, his process for learning seven different tracks in the show, getting to be part of the cast of the World Premiere of Bliss The Musical at 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle, why he thinks Bliss The Musical should be put on a Broadway stage, how he’s become TikTok famous over the past year, what made him want to create a TikTok account and how TikTok allows him to express himself in ways other social media platforms can’t, his participation in Ratatouille The Musical, teaching upcoming theatre performers during quarantine, and MUCH MORE!
