Brian became known as the lead vocalist for pop rock band The Summer Set which formed in 2007. The Summer Set released four full-length studio albums: Love Like This (2009), Everything's Fine (2011), Legendary (2013), and Stories for Monday (2016). The band toured with numerous musical acts, including The Cab, We Are the In Crowd, Mayday Parade, Sleeping with Sirens, All Time Low, The Downtown Fiction, and Action Item. In 2017 the band went on an indefinite hiatus.

A year after The Summer Set announced their indefinite hiatus, in fall 2018 Brian became involved in theatre when he got cast as Barry Cox in "I Know What You Did Last Summer" Musical at El Cid in Los Angeles which later came back to LA in summer 2019 at Three Clubs. Brian then starred as Landon Carter alongside Dia Frampton and Janel Parrish in "A Walk To Remember Musical".
